Potpourri
While the word “potpourri” most commonly refers to a collection of sweet-smelling dried flowers, it can also be the title of a collection of literary extracts, as is the case with this book. Here in this one volume are the most memorable quotations gathered over more than 40 years from a wide range of sources.
The selection is of course personal, though the themes are universal: Viewpoints; Memory; Matters of the Heart; War and Peace; Laugh Out Loud; Sport. In addition there is a section that records proverbs from around the world.
